Hudson Mfg. has taken a serious stab at re-inventing the 9 mm Luger-chambered semi-automatic pistol with its H9—a forged-steel-frame, 15-round-capacity, striker-fired gun that bears a strong resemblance to the classic M1911, if only on the outside.

The H9 9 mm semi-automatic is designed to be a best of both world solution with its 1911-type trigger that incorporates the Safe-Action-type safety lever often found in striker fired pistols.

Touted by the company as “the marriage between a 1911 and a striker-fired gun,” the Hudson Mfg. H9, introduced in 2017, incorporates what the company considers to be the best design elements of both styles of guns with a number of innovations of its own.

Hudson Manufacturing, which introduced the 9 mm H9 semi-auto pistol in January 2018, filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy on March 14, citing between $10 million and $50 million in liabilities and less than $50,000 in assets.
