A young hunter saw a Holland & Holland rifle on a deer hunt, not knowing it would be his decades later.
I was 12 years old in 1970 when my father was stricken with a brain aneurysm the day after Christmas. He had owned a 1950s-vintage Remington Model 722 chambered in .300 Savage, but, sadly, I was never able to hunt with him.
I was born in 1931 and grew up on a farm in south Mississippi. My dad was a sharecropper until I was in my teens during those very difficult times.
