NRA Gun of the Week: Springfield Armory XD-E Pistol

Chambered for 9 mm Luger and featuring an exposed hammer with a bilateral safety/decocker lever, the XD-E from Springfield Armory is quite different than anything we’ve seen from the importer of service-grade, Croatian-built pistols. The XD-E features a thin, polymer frame that accepts single-stack magazines that borrow heavily from Springfield’s previous single-stack design, the XD-S. Additionally, the XD-E frame boasts the company’s Grip Zone treatment, an enhancement first seen with the release of the XD Mod. 2.
