When the alarm in his New York City apartment signaled a break-in at his nearby liquor store, Wilbert Gilliard got his .38 Spl. revolver and went to investigate. At the store he found a thief carting off a box of liquor bottles, and he held the man at gunpoint until police arrived. How the thief had reached the bottles through an iron grill that covered the storefront was revealed when a small monkey popped from his coat. The monkey had slipped through the grating and passed the liquor out to his human accomplice. (New York Daily News, New York, NY)
