A family dispute almost ended in tragedy when an 18-year-old man started a fight with his brother, threatening to beat him with a baseball bat. He then turned his attention to his grandparents. The man reportedly grabbed a knife and threatened to kill everyone in the home, including himself. A family member sought help from a neighbor, who retrieved a firearm. The aggressor was shot once and was reportedly in critical condition. There were allegedly several warrants already out for his arrest. No one else in the home was harmed during the incident. A woman was walking her miniature collie on a trail around 8 a.m. when two stray dogs attacked the collie. when she attempted to stop them, they turned on her. The woman's screaming caught the attention of a neighbor who responded by shooting the dogs with his 9 mm pistol, killing one. The second dog was injured and later euthanized by authorities. The woman was taken to an area hospital with bite wounds to her left arm and left leg. Her collie was transported to a local veterinary clinic to be treated for its wounds as well.
