Four people had been joking around, setting up Christmas trees in a lot when they were approached by a man they did not know. The 29-year-old stranger grew agitated and seemed to think they were laughing at him. They assured the man that they were not and apologized. He then left the area, but returned a short time later. he pulled out a knife and advanced toward the group. one man drew his handgun and warned him to stop while another individual called police. Officers arrived and were able to subdue the man with the knife. He was believed to have been under the influence of narcotics at the time of the incident. When a family of six, including a 5-month-old baby, heard two men breaking into their home, they retreated to the basement to hide. Two armed men forced their way inside. One of the residents warned the burglars not to follow them downstairs. One burglar ignored the warning and started down the basement stairs with a handgun. The homeowner then shot him in the leg. After being treated for his gunshot wound, both intruders faced chargers in the break-in. (Daily Interlake, Billings, Mont., 5/16/14)

One dashed into an apartment building at E. 55th St., only to be confronted by the revolver-armed manageress, Mrs. Victoria Roginski.
