The Art of the Gun: Magnificent Colts

Containing images of some of the most glorious and rare firearms ever built, Yellowstone Press' new release, "Magnificent Colts," is the first of five titles in its "The Art of the Gun" series, co-authored by renowned Colt historian R.L. Wilson and collector Robert M. Lee.

The two-volume series-which weighs 22 pounds-tallies at approximately 550 pages, with over 1,250 illustrations and over 100,000 words of text, captions and more. The book pays tribute to the unique contributions of Samuel Colt to the history of firearms from 1836 to modern times, and coincides with the 175th anniversary of Colt.

The Standard Edition, numbered and limited to 2,500 sets, features gold-foil stamped brilliant cloth binding, french fold dust jackets, retails for $375. The Deluxe Collector's Edition-which caters to the most serious of Colt collectors and aficionados at a price of $2,900-features 23K gold stamped Tuscan calf leather binding, french, hand-marbled end leaves, and is enclosed in an exquisitely handcrafted clamshell case. Each of the 500 in this set are signed and numbered.
