Former Navy Seal Reads American Rifleman During Recovery

The web has been abuzz with the story of a former Navy SEAL that pursued his attacker even after being shot last week-and one new photo seems to confirm that he, like many firearms enthusiasts, enjoys American Rifleman.

According to a report from the New York Daily News, 44-year-old Christopher Heben remains hospitalized days after surgeons removed a projectile from his abdomen. The former SEAL was wounded by a still unidentified suspect outside a grocery store in Bath Township, Ohio, on Friday, March 28.

The alleged shooter fled the scene by vehicle, and, before seeking aid, Heben entered his own car and gave chase for about a mile. After losing his attacker's car, Heben realized it was time to treat his wound. He drove himself to a nearby police station, and was transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Thus far, he's recovering quite nicely, and regularly posts updates to his own Facebook page-the photo embedded below, among them. Suffice to say, we approve of his reading material.

That would be the April 2014 edition of American Rifleman in Mr. Heben's lap, which featured Wiley Clapp's cover story on SIG Sauer's P227. You can read said story right here.
