Nikon Releases New P-223 Long-Range Riflescope

3/12/2013

The new P-223 Long Range Riflescope from Nikon comes with dual ballistic compensation, while expanding on the line of precision optics for MSR platform rifles. The P-223 is available in 4-12x40 with BDC 600 reticle for effective long-distance performance, and comes in matte finish with Fully Multicoated lenses. This new riflescope offers two different methods of bullet drop compensation. The first option is to use the BDC 600 reticle with open circle aiming points and hash marks from 100 to 600 yards, which was developed for the trajectory of the .223 Rem./5.56 NATO round with 55-grain polymer tip bullet.

The second option is to use Nikon's Rapid Action Turret system. This system provides the ability to dial in distances and hold the BDC reticle's horizontal crosshair on the target. The P-223 also features Nikon's spring-loaded instant zero-reset turrets. This allows the shooter to sight in at 100 yards, lift the adjustment knob, rotate to "zero," and re-engage. The turrets are set for 1/4-inch adjustments, and can maintain their setting against recoil. The P-223 comes with an MSRP of $249.95.
