There's no hiding it, 1911s remain the most popular pistol on the market today. They're a classic model and have stood the test of time (and fire the ever-popular .45 caliber round, at that).
The problem: A lot of 1911 models can be crazy expensive, keeping the average buyer out of the market. What Rock Island Armory displayed at SHOT Show 2012, however, may change that perspective for many AmericanRifleman.org readers.
Rock Island Armory offers the most affordable entry level 1911 on the market (prices vary, but CheaperThanDirt.com lists the standard 1911 at under $400 and the Tactical at under $500), and prides itself on top-of-the-line customer service.
AmericanRifleman.org caught up with Rock Island President/CEO Martin Tuason at SHOT Show, and he was happy to discuss both his new 1911 Tactical Model and a .22 caliber round that the company is producing. Check out both in the video below:
