Total junk - Detonics beat Colt to the punch by a good 8 years.

I am deathly afraid of Guns but I know that we need to protect ourselves and need guns for hunting. I just pray i never have to shoot a gun ever, unless it's at the shooting range or in a video game

Custom pistol-smiths had been chopping 1911s fro 10-20 years before Detonics built new small guns. The Officer ACP used a compact barrel bushing and the spring cap had a screw slotted steel pug that was turned to allow easy dis/re-assembly. The plug had a small tab that locked it in place, which was prone to failure, resulting in an inoperative weapon. Richard Heinie designed a new recoil spring and plug system. I have an earlymodel, don't recall 3-dot sights... I had Mr, Hienie install his plain iron sights. Someday I'll have Tritium vials installed. I carry mine about 18/7. It has been reliable but did need some minor polishing on the feed ramp. The mainspring housing is about 1/2" shorter and the mainspring is several pounds heavier than a standard size 1911. I have now installed a set of Crimson Trace laser-grips and a real beavertail.
