The cartridge is based upon a shortened .223 case, not the 9mm Luger as stated. If you were to use a 9mm Largo case the pressures generated may not be safe for this pistol casing. At this time there are no offered load data of reloading dies. The factory will reload your fired brass for 1/2 the cost of new ammunition.

This is intriguing. Might suit me very well if it is in an affordable price range, including accessories, etc. Wonder if calibers w/ a bit more "muscle" were or are being considered? j $$$??

I've been looking at this caliber for sometime.I talked to the guys at shedhorn.com and they said they ordered a few of these S&W. I may have to take the plunge.

Love my Kimber. You will not find a beter out of the box 45 for money spent. I do wish they would offer Kimpro II finish on a base model gun (without night sights). Their blue finish doesn't seem to wear very well and many people prefer plain black sights over white dots or night sights. I myself prefer a laser or flash light thinking if its to dark to see your sights its to dark to see your target. Besides, who is going to be doing careful sight alignment in a crunch situation ? Imagine how awesome the Raptor would be with KimPro II and plain black sights!
