I can’t believe number the times I’ve been accused of being paranoid because I carry a gun for self-defense, and train with that gun in case I’m every required to draw in defense of life. And I’m not talking about people who discover my career and have questions about firearms and self-defense. I’m talking family. In fact, I’m not even sure my father understands my reasoning.

However, yesterday’s attack in a California hair salon proves my point that a bad situation can happen anywhere and if you’re not prepared, you can’t stop it. Another example is where a Maryland woman stole knives from a Target and then attacked another woman with those knives in the store’s parking lot.

It’s naïve to believe that every bad situation can be completely stopped, but if these situations had happened in more gun-friendly states, casualties could have been reduced by one person with the means and wherewithal to step in. If you’re going to carry, then carry EVERYWHERE it is legal.

Here in WI we have had two incidents in the last 5 yrs where individuals planned and executed armed attacks in churches. If it happens there it may happen anywhere. Those that are unprepared risk becoming statistics. Carry everywhere you are able everday.

Comments...I think it's funny that the same people who say we don't need to carry because the chances of being in a situation where it's needed are so small are the same people who think I'm crazy for not buying a lottery ticket! I certainly agree. Additionally, one should invest time in researching the type of firearm and carry method they will be most comfortable with and USE. Also, adapt to carrying with a round in the chamber, safety on-ready to respond to an attack. In a real life situation, most people will not have the time nor coordination to draw, chamber and fire in time.

I agree. And living in CA, not far from that salon shooting, I only wish I could carry. Of course the media will turn it around and say this is exactly why guns should be banned. Completely ridiculous!

I couldn't agree more! This is exactly what I tell my friends who tell me that I'm going overboard by carrying everywhere it's legal. I'm not bloodthirsty or violent, nor am I anxious always looking for trouble hoping for an opportunity to draw. I'm the exact opposite: the very last thing I ever want to do in my lifetime is take another life or inflict pain and misery. However, should fate call and I be in the right place at the right time to intervene and avert a tragedy...God forbid that I not be prepared and carrying concealed legally.

I agree completely! It's unfortunate that in moonbat anti-gun states like CA and Fascachusetts, it is a PITA to get a CCW permit and you can't open carry. In MA, there is no law against open carry if you have an LTC, but you local chief can revoke your permit for any reason without cause, so concealed is the way to go. Carry everywhere there isn't a metal detector. My family will be defended by me everywhere; if I can't carry there, we don't go there.

i agree totally i was at a target matter of fact and 3 guys were robbing another and i was just getting ready to park and first thing i did was grab my springfield xd and holstered it walked over there and asked what was going on one male turnned and said if i didnt leave he would shot me so automatically drew my weapon and told him to show me his hands the other 2 took off runnin and the one who threatend me was already on the ground so long story short one guy went to jail and the guy getting robbed didnt lose anything expecially his life so i totally agree with what you are saying

I argee whole heartedly. It's your right to bare arms and to protect yourself and family. I've been shot at when a baby, held up at gunpoint when working through college and I carry everywhere that it is leagal to do so. My children will follow in my footsteps in this mater.

I agree with you 100%. My wife doesn't agree with me, but I carry everywhere: Grocery store, pet store, funerals, weddings. Only places I don't carry is where they have a sign on their door of business explicitly saying "no guns" and during job interviews. Some people get a little worrisome at the sight of a gun, which is fine to deter possible malicious acts, but you never know! Remember a few years ago in Missouri? The attacks on the church? If I went to church I would probably carry there too. When I was in the army, we were deployed to Iraq, there was a lull in the fighting and were told to "lighten our load". My normal carry amount was about 1300 rounds. We lightened up and not long after we were in a fire fight. I ran down to just under 100 rounds, and we still had to get back to base. Lesson learned: Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. I carry almost everywhere. Not due to paranoid tendency, but from experience. Remember, statistically the holidays have an increase in crime and I believe this is the perfect time to ease peoples minds about when to and when not to carry. Carry everywhere you are allowed to.
