Be Prepared: The 2012 Executive Survivors Kit

1/18/2012

Lan World's 2012 Executive Survivors Kit

The 2012 Mayan Apocalypse is less than a year away, and it may be time to start preparing... if you believe in those sorts of things.

Even if you don't, the new 2012 Executive Survivors Kit from LAN World, Inc. can make for a great emergency kit, and it was certainly one of the most interesting little finds at SHOT Show 2012. LAN World partnered with Stag Arms to produce a versatile, fun and downright useful "emergency kit" that's perfect for Apocaylpse-mongers and the simply vigilant souls alike.

Each kit includes:

- Stag Arms Model 2 AR-15 Rifle
- EoTech 517 Holographic Red Dot Optic
- 60 Rounds of Quality Ammunition
- Stag Arms Field Repair Kit
- Two 30/10 Round Magazines
- First Aid Kit
- MRE Field Ration Meal
- Gerber MP 600 Multi-Plier
- Gerber Omnivore LED Flashlight
- Otis AR-15 Cleaning Kit
- Silent Sling
- 4 AA back up batteries
- Quality hard sided rifle Case

im good to go with my BM AR 15 Carbon, fitted with a 700 Lumen Tac Light, my Tac vest loaded with 300 rds, my 9mm and 3 mags, boot knife, and another box of ammo but hey, I only have an eye for essentials

Nice kit, now please add more ammo and mags, and some type of mag pouches. To stop the muntant ninja zombies that will bring the end of the world in 2012.

End of the world! Last man standing seems to be the consensus here. What's after?

Personally, I would ditch the boxes of ammo (who's going to have time to load mags), and put in 6 loaded mags. Ditch the MRE. If you are in a situation that requires an M4 eating will be the last thing on your mind. Use the MRE space for a handgun (nothing like 1911) with an ambidexterous holster. The sling should already be installed on the rifle, because again, who's going to have time to put it on? But hey, if your just looking for a really expensive box of tricks to show of to your buddies then this setup will do just fine.

To all of you that say, "needs more ammo"... I say, how many rounds will an executive be able to shoot before they are a casualty?

Price point is ok considering the rifle, optics and case. Limited ammo and one MRE will not get you through an apocalypse, but is a quality kit for sure. Have another bag with more ammo and food, good to go.

make it an AK with 1000 round for 1/3 the price, and i'll take 2!

You need more ammo and more mags. 30 rounds and 2 mags is not going to get you far.

1 MRE? I suppose that makes sense with only 60rds of ammo.
