FAB Defense, MAKO, and Hanover Toolbox introduce a new prototype self-defense hat called the Gotcha. A self-defense tool made of reinforced durable polymer composite that is discreetly located in the brim of the baseball hat can be used to defend oneself with only a moments notice. The tool does not have sharpened edges, but is great for use on pressure points and other ways to subdue an assailant.

Someone looking for a tougher knife for everyday carry should check out the new Eagle Heavy Duty knife by Al Mar Knives. The blade is made in laminated SDP-189 steel, and comes in Earth/brown scales. ZDP-189 metal is powdered, with a 3% carbon content that Al Mar Knives heat treats to 64Rc. The Eagle HD weighs 3 oz., has a blade thickness of .10", and a blade length of 9". North American Arms introduces its' .22 Mag. Mini-Revolver and Holster Grip Accessory. This is ideal option for concealed carry, especially for women. They may be small, but they pack a big punch. These holster grips fold knife-like against the bottom of the gun, and fold out to a full-sized grip, giving the user a better grip on the gun considering how small it is, and reducing felt-recoil. This is a 5-shot .22 mag that is spur-triggeredl. The clip is ambidextrous, which is great for clipping to a purse or in a concealed-carry bag.

Magpul is known for its creative design solutions, and the company rolled out some of its most innovative products yet at SHOT Show 2013. First comes the MOE Fixed Carbine Stock, which provides a fixed, non-collapsing stock option for carbine-length buffer tubes. It has a slim profile, improved cheek weld and multiple sling attachment options. The company also showed off the MOE-K2 Grip, which is a drop-in upgrade for AR-15/M4 pistol grips. It was a more vertical grip angle, which is optimized for short length-of-pull firearms.

The Mako Group's FAB Defense brought its new magazine-carrying collapsible rifle buttstock to SHOT Show 2013, with a new innovation or two. The buttstock, called the GL-MAG M4/AR-15 Survival Stock, can carry any capacity AR-15 magazine in 5.56 or .223. The magazine is held securely in the stock by the same mechanics that secure a magazine to the rifle's firing system. The stock has a quick-release button that places the magazine in hand instantly, ready for loading. The buttstock ships with a 10-round polymer magazine.

Leupold released the BX-4 McKinley HD at SHOT Show 2013. The HD gives you a bright, sharp image, and with flat lenses these binoculars give you a full flat view across the entire visual field. Leupold unveils the latest addition to its VX6 line. The VX6 is now offered in 3-18x44 mm and 3-18x50 mm. One of the scopes is illuminated, the other is not, and all of the scopes come with a side-focus dial. The VX6's also include extended twilight lens coatings and scratch resistant lenses. Every scope comes with free CDS through the custom shop. Taking all of the ballistic data, one simply calls the shop and they will run you a dial in 50 yard increments out to about 800 yards.
