Once in a while, a gun comes along that offers such a unique combination of features that it is quickly popular, occasionally beyond logic. Sometimes, it takes a few years for a gun to achieve that almost iconic status. I am not sure how it went with the gun in question, but it is certain that the pre-war Colt Woodsman is a classic handgun that enjoys cult favorite status. As most handgunners are aware, the Woodsman is a handy-size .22 auto that was the gold standard in this type of gun during the period before and immediately after World War II.

Mossberg released its original model 464 lever-action rifle in early 2008, which—not coincidentally—wasn’t long after Winchester announced that it would no longer be manufacturing Model 94s in the U.S. The original 464 has a fair bit in common with the Model 94s, but the SPX is a different beast entirely—it's not a cowboy gun, and it's probably not for everyone.

I’ve long preached awareness as one of the most crucial elements of self-defense for the simple fact that if you don’t know that danger is near, you can’t defend against it, regardless of training. A wadcutter is a style of bullet that is almost completely cylindrical in shape. While there have been a few jacketed wadcutters, the majority are lead. Most commercially loaded wadcutters are swaged from lead alloys and some even have a hollow base. Cast lead wadcutters are often double-ended, particularly those used by handloaders.

When a 23-year-old male followed a woman from the garage area of an apartment complex and assaulted her, the woman went to an apartment for help. The tenant, a friend of the woman’s, was home with his young son. The woman told him the man following her had tried to grope her and made unintelligible statements to her.
