Ruger SR45

Ruger introduced its line of SR semi-automatic pistols in 2007, and its fans have been clamoring for an SR model chambered in the all-American .45 ACP ever since. This year, Ruger finally answered with the new SR45.

The SR45 is a striker-fired, polymer-framed, full service-sized gun. Weighing in at about 30 ozs., the pistol carries 10 rounds of the ever-popular .45 ACP, providing Ruger fans with the handgun they've long been asking for.

It needs a five inch slide/barrel, then I may buy one.

Ruger is THE company that has always listened to its customers and given us what we want. Colt let us down, Smith&Wesson let us down, but Ruger has always been on our side.

I consider this a good 'beater' gun. I tend to coddle my 1911's and this appeals to me in that it has 10+1, light, durable. Good to keep at the bedside and also in the truck. Factor in Ruger's dependability, value, price and support and you've got a winner. Not the prettiest .45 but, I could care less about that. It looks good enough!
