Update 8-15-11: American Rifleman Managing Editor Aaron Carter had the opportunity to shoot Winchester's Blind Side ammunition in front of some high-speed cameras! Check out the slow motion videos at the end of the post to see how the Hex Shot looks under the scrutiny of a high speed camera. Winchester Ammunition is introducing a host of exciting new products this year, including its Blind Side waterfowling shotshells and an expansion of its popular PDX1 Defender line. Winchester's newest and most technologically advanced product this year are the Blind Side hunting shotshells, previewed at SHOT Show 2011 earlier this year. Each 12-gauge Blind Side shell is packed with 100% Hex Shot, a hexahedron-shaped pellet whose unique shape offers better ballistics compared to standard round shot. In addition to tighter groupings and increased lethality, Hex Shot's shape allows more pellets to be packed into a standard 3- or 3 1/2-inch shotshell, giving you a better chance to hit the game you're aiming at. Blind Side 12-gauge shotshells are currently available in BB and No. 2 pellet sizes, 3- or 3 1/2-inch shell lengths. In addition to Blind Side, as previewed earlier this year at the 2011 SHOT Show, Winchester also released the PDX1 Defender in .223 Rem. Designed with a solid bonded rear lead core and an unbonded front portion, designed to prevent over-penetration.
