As previewed at SHOT Show 2011, on the centennial of John M. Browning's celebrated M1911 pistol, Umarex USA is offering up 3 .22-caliber versions of the 1911: the Colt Government 1911, the Colt 1911 Rail Gun and the Colt 1911 Gold Cup. Every model has a 5-inch barrel, 12-round magazine and drift-adjustable front and rear sights. Each .22-caliber 1911 is also engineered to use a fully-functioning thumb and grip safety, as well as the half-cock mechanism of the true .45-caliber 1911. The pistols have a starting MSRP at $399 and go up to $499, depending on the model. In addition to the .22-caliber 1911s, Umarex is also offering .22-caliber versions of the Heckler & Koch MP5, designed to operate in the very same manner as the 9 mm version. The .22-caliber MP5 versions come with match grade precision barrels, imitation 3-lug flash suppressors, adjustable front and rear sights, and a rotating safety switch. It is available in either a 10- or 25-round magazine. For additional information on the .22-caliber Colt 1911s, please visit the Umarex USA Colt rimfire website.
