The renowned Smith & Wesson Performance Center used SHOT Show to unveil two products that should make diehard 1911 fans swoon: the Performance Center Custom SW1911 and the SW1911 Bobtail (pictured). The Performance Center SW1911 offers a stainless steel frame, G10 blue custom grips, lightning cuts to help reduce weight, drift adjustable sights and an enlarged beveled magazine well. The trigger is a Performance Center standard, and breaks at 3.5 to 4 lbs. out of the box. The SW1911 Bobtail is designed with conceal carry practitioners in mind—and it offers a Bobtail cut on the frame to help make it less likely to snag. It features many of the same features as the full-size Performance Center model, though it's sporting a scandium frame and a 3-dot white sight system. The slide remains stainless steel.
