Winchester Ammunition has announced the newest iteration of its rimfire ammunition line, now equipped with the Varmint HE 3/1 Segmenting expansion bullet.

The 3/1 fragmenting design makes use of the 37 grain hollow-point bullet by splitting into three forward segments and a solid rear core upon impact. This provides both explosive impact energy and extreme penetration desired in varmint round, especially since its capable of a velocity of 1,435 fps.

The Varmint HE 3/1 Segmenting expansion bullet ammunition is chambered in .22 LR. For additional information, please visit the Winchester Ammunition website.

The original Quik-Shoks, made in Mexico w/ Eley primers, were very very accurate and consistent in my old Rem 550. When CCI took it over they became very inaccurate in the same rifle, with a lot of apparent variation in the loads. I'm hoping this new Win round takes me back to the good old days!

This is a variation on the old "Quick Shock" round. CCI still loads it under that name. Quick Shock was Very Inaccurate in my heavy barreld Ruger 10/22. Lets hope Winchester has solved that problem. I'd like to see accuracy testing.
