Ruger Introduces SR1911

The Ruger SR1911 is Ruger's first attempt at a John M. Browning M1911-style pistol, and is made entirely in the USA.

4/18/2011

Ruger has announced its first attempt at an M1911-style pistol in the form of its SR1911. The Ruger SR1911 features a bead-blasted stainless steel frame and slide, titanium firing pin and heavy firing pin spring (negating the need for a firing pin block) and an oversized beavertail grip safety.

The SR1911 also features a skeletonized hammer and skeletonized aluminum trigger with adjustable over-travel stop. The MSRP is $799.00

I have been wanting and waiting for a 1911. Was looking for an original but when Ruger came out with the SR1911, it was what I wanted. Had a little trouble getting one as they sell fast. Got one a few days ago and it is sweet. Went to the range and went thru about 200 rounds and felt no fatigue. Shooting between 7 and 40 yards was accurate. Do not have to adjust sights even though it was right out of the box. Dismantling for cleaning is a breeze.

Great pistol-just picked one up last week, superbly accurate right out of the box-ate through 75 rounds of ammo without a hitch. This is my first 1911 and love it!
