Ruger's Million Gun Challenge: First Donation

Ruger CEO Mike Fifer presents a check to NRA for almost $300,000 as part of the company's Million Gun Challenge.

NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre and NRA-ILA Executive Director Chris Cox were on hand July 27, 2011 to accept the first check from Ruger in the amount of $279,600 as part of its Million Gun Challenge.

Sturm, Ruger & Co., makers of the new SR1911 pistol and Gunsite Scout Rifle, announced its “Million Gun Challenge” to benefit NRA in May 2011. Ruger pledges to donate $1 million to NRA if one million new Ruger firearms are sold between the 2011 and 2012 NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits.
