In December 2011, Florida Gov. Rick Scott and Colt Mfg. announced plans for a new manufacturing facility in Osceola County, Fla.

Lt. Gen. William M. Keys (Ret.), Colt’s president and CEO, cited Florida’s “strong pro-business incentive package,” and the governor’s commitment to the Second Amendment, as grounds for selecting the new facility’s location. At least initially, the 16,000-sq.-ft. facility will employ around 60 engineering and manufacturing personnel and will help Colt continue to expand into both new and existing markets.
