Victoria Davison was approached by two teenagers. One teen demanded, “I want the keys, car, everything.” When Davison hesitated to comply with the carjackers, one of them indicated they had a gun. That is when Davison pulled out her own firearm from her gym bag and fired. One assailant suffered a single gunshot wound and fell to the ground, while the second assailant fled on foot. Both suspects were later apprehended and face charges of armed robbery and theft. Both suspects were reportedly connected to a string of robberies and carjackings, one of which resulted in the shooting of a 43-year-old man. Davison was not injured during the incident. August 1969:
Two men entered the grocery of E.T. Hunter, 77, Ormund Beach, Fla. One asked for cigarettes. When Hunter turned around, the other pointed a pistol at his head and demanded cash. When Hunter grabbed for the pistol, the bandit hit him over the head with it. Mrs. Hunter, meanwhile, grabbed a gun from under the counter, fired and missed. The shots forced the bandits to flee on foot. Neighbor Charles Hines spotted them and covered one with a gun until police arrived. The other was arrested later. (News-Journal, Daytona Beach, FL)
