While there is no doubt that lasers are great tools for self-defense, there is a bit of an argument about instant-on versus push-button control. Some shooters prefer Crimson Trace because the laser activates when you grip the handgun, while others favor more control over the activation of the laser like the control button on LaserMax lasers.

Crimson Trace Corp. announced that its first green laser will be available in the third quarter of 2012 and will be implemented with the existing Lightguard platform. In the second phase of the green-laser inroduction, which will occur in 2013, brand-new technology will be employed to shrink the diode and provide it in the same size package as the existing laser. Learn more in this video of Iain Harrison as he demonstrates the laser and explains why you should give it a try.
