Glock Gen4 G20 10 mm Pistol (Page 2)

The Gen4 G20 provides the stopping power of a Magnum revolver in a high-capacity semi-auto.

Of the 10 mm pistols I've had the opportunity to work with, the G20 is the softest shooting. The accuracy is excellent, especially for an out-of-the-box service pistol. The new Gen4 version G20 is more comfortable to work with for smaller hands than the Gen3 because of the reduced grip size, grip texturing and the enlarged magazine release. As one of those shooters who enjoys handguns with plenty of power, this version of the G20 has earned itself a place on my list of favorite gun tests of the year.

The Glock 20 with 6' hunting barrel will exceed 357 mag and approach the 41 mag. There is a reason Alaska guides and pilots are now in large numbers using the Glock 20 in a chest holster Loaded with Buffalo Bore Hardcast X 16 rounds.

'The Gen4 G20 provides the stopping power of a Magnum revolver in a high-capacity semi-auto. ' While the 10mm is a powerful semi-auto, I beg to differ with the above statement that this provides the stopping power of a 44 magnum (maybe at the low end of the ballistic chart). If I was walking around in bear country, I would opt for a 44 mag loaded with a 300 grain hard cast bullet (from buffalo Bore perhaps) that will penetrate and break bones. That's some serious energy. You can't get that in a 10mm!

I use the G20 for my back packing/camping gun, and the G29 for my ccw. I handload with 180 grain JHPs over 8 grains of Power Pistol powder. In my personal opinion, the 10mm is great all purpose round.
