Rohrbaugh R9 Stealth 9 mm Pistol (Page Two)

Compact and easy-to-use, with the power of the 9 mm.

Combined with the small sights, the handling of the gun is such that the 25-yard standard of five consecutive, five-shot groups is a challenge. The results should be taken in perspective. The gun is made for close-quarters shooting, where it excels in speed and smoothness.

This is a well-conceived and soundly engineered compact pistol. The R9 Stealth, with its low-profile dull black finish, carries a heavy price tag, but the overall quality of the gun for this specialized role is commensurate with that figure.

I have had mine for about 5 years + and have carried it everyday since then. The pistol fires every time once I found the ammo it likes to eat. It does have a sharp bite every time it fires. The trigger pull is heavy but very smooth. If you really need the pistol you will never notice the trigger pull. It is not a range gun for sure. I used to carry a 1911 45 acp off & on. It was to big and bulky to carry all of the time. I hear people complain about the price of this great firearm. What can you say it is a fine handcrafted piece of jewelry in my opinion. I say my family's life is well worth the price of this gun. The pistol goes everywhere with me from the grocery store, classical concerts to cutting the grass. No one has ever noticed the firearm. I am not a gambler so I do not have to pick and choose where I carry legally. I can not guess where or when the bad guy may be waiting. If I were that good I would be rich in the stock market or Vegas.

I bought mine thru Gun Broker (either Gilbert's Guns or a guy in TX) Don't treat it like a range gun - if you shoot mag after mag at the range it'll heat up and jam. The tolerances are extremely tight. It's put fifty thru it over a period of a couple hours with you're ammo of choice, wipe it clean, swab the bbl, load and carry. I shoot a mag every six months or so and mark it on the round count I keep in the box. You don't need to shoot thousands of rounds with a particular pistol to hit center mass at nine feet twice. If you treat it as what it's intended to be 'dark parking lot, close in threat that's suddenly upon you' it'll go bang every time. It's not a combat pistol for ducking and weaving while you're changing mags. It met every criteria I had for defensive carry. Full size 9mm, no safety, European mag release and DAO. Enjoy, I love mine and carry it everywhere. X-One Nine Delta
