6/21/2010 The SpecterDR scope from ELCAN solves the problem of having to choose between an optic for close quarters combat or one for engaging more distant targets by fulfilling both roles. The DR (for Dual Role) transitions seamlessly from a 1X scope to a 4X at the mere pull of a lever with no change in eye relief. The operator can select to illuminate the crosshair or a single, central dot, but the reticle is etched onto the glass, keeping the scope usable without battery power.
