Top Shot Champ Answers Your Questions (Page 2)

Iain Harrison, winner of History Channel's Top Shot, sat down to answer the questions you submitted through American Rifleman's Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Q: When JJ missed his called shot, what was going through your mind? After that challenge was completed, how confident/unsure were you going back to the house for the final night? (Kent Seering via Facebook)
A:
When JJ missed his final shot, that final challenge, that whole horse setup was probably the most enjoyable thing because I was just hanging out with two good friends, and we were just getting to shoot stuff. It was fun, it was challenging, and it was unusual.

When J.J. picked that 8-inch plate, I went “Man, that’s gonna be a small target at 50 yards.” But I knew why he did it. Because in a previous practice session, he shot that Schofield at 50 yards, and I’m not sure whether he knew that I did as well. I knew that it was dropping like a rock once you got past 30 yards. So I held the top of the target, held the top of the target frame. How did it feel going into the next challenge and going back to the house? I was really surprised. Very, very surprised that I had gotten that far given the level of the competitors that were going into it, and their reputations, which are richly deserved. They’ve been there and they’ve performed at that level.

Iain, I really like your comments here. You seem like a good bloke/chap/blighter - , I dont really know all the nuances behind those monickers - I am really not sure what they all mean. But I do know what being an American means - and I am proud to have you as one of us. Congrats on winning too.
