11/16/2010 Sturm, Ruger & Co., popular manufacturer of firearms like the Ruger LCP and the iconic Ruger 10/22, was recently named to the Forbes magazine list of "America's 100 Best Small Companies." To qualify as small companies, potentials had to be publicly traded for at least a year, have annual revenue between $5 million and $1 billion and have a stock price no lower than $5 a share. Individual placement in the rankings was determined by earnings growth, sales growth and return on equity. Ruger's success in its pistol line with the Ruger LCP, Ruger LCR and SR9 and SR9c helped push the company's sales growth up 85% over the last 5 years, allowing it to grab the 73rd spot in the rankings.
