1/14/2011 Barrett, a company known for its powerful rifles like the 98 Bravo, has announced its new Multi-Role Adaptive Design (MRAD) rifle. The MRAD is designed to feature more modularity than similar bolt-action guns, offering quick barrel changes for caliber alteration, a thumb-operated safety that can be adjusted for left- or right-handed operation, a one-button length-of-pull customization and over 20-inches of rail space to accomodate optics and other accessories. The MRAD also has a 24.5-inch barrel, 10-round magazine, foldable stock, adjustable cheek piece, quick-detach sling points, and a fire- and drop-proof trigger that can be removed without tools. It's initially available in .338 Lapua and will be ready to ship mid-year 2011. The MSRP is $6,000. For additional information, please visit the Barrett MRAD product page.
