Winchester Unveils Lead-Free .17 HMR Ammo
New 15.5 grain lead-free varmint bullet features polymer tip and non-corrosive primer.

Winchester Ammunition has announced a new lead-free option for varmint hunters in the form of its .17 HMR LF. The new lead-free load has a 15.5 grain bullet with a polymer tip and is capable of velocities of 2,550 fps. It represents an innovation for the popular caliber in states where traditional hunting ammunition may not be legal.
