Ruger 10/22 Rifle (Page 2)

Ruger Model 10/22 carbine sporting arm is neat, compact and functionally reliable.

1.50

High-velocity

.37"

.79"

.58"

3.48

Results with both types of ammunition were within the manufacturer's minimum standard which calls for a 10-shot grouping capability not exceeding 4" extreme spread at 100 yds.

Over-all performance of this rifle was excellent. It is neat, compact, and functionally reliable. It is perhaps handicapped by its open sights, but receiver is drilled and tapped for standard telescope mounts. Trigger pull is about 7 Ibs., but let-all is crisp after initial slack is taken up. Finish on wood and metal parts is above average. Receiver, trigger guard, and barrel band are anodized matte black. Barrel and buttplate of the 10/22 are blued.

I PURCHASED A 1022 TAKE DOWN MODEL. TRIED TO SIGHT IT IN FIRST WITH TASCO RED DOT,THEN A 3X9 SCOPE. AFTER OVER THREE BOXES OF SHELLS COULD NOT GET A GROUP SMALLER THAN FOUR INCHES @ 50YDS. AFTER CLOSE EXAMNATION FOUND OUR THAT THE BARREL WAS NOT CROWNED. CONTACTED RUGER THEY ARE ARRANGING PICKUP VIA UPS, INSPECTION AND REPAIR. SO IF YOUR 1022 IS NOT A TACK DRIVER LIKE MANY CLAIM TO BE. CHECK THE END OF YOOUR BARREL TO SEE IF IT IS CROWNED.

Just recently got my first 10/22 and love it! I have fired a lot of different rifles in and out of the Army and this one is just about the best! I was a top shot while serving and almost went to sniper's school but time was up. Sure would like, someday, to have a chance to fire one of their big ones but will probably have to settle for my 10/22 but can't beat it!

i have 18 examples of the 1022, both rifle and carbine versions, ranging in vintage from 1965 to 2011. while finish and stock furniture and materials have changed over time, accuracy has improved and dependability has remained outstanding. A fine all around weapon for all purposes.

The author should have said, "The STOCK Ruger Model 10/22... is in the latter class." I replaced parts of the trigger group with high quality gear, mounted a target barrel, and bought a stock that would accommodate the larger barrel. With a good scope, good ammo, and calm wind I can shoot 1/2 inch, five round groups at 100 yards. With $300 in parts, my 10/22 is as accurate as some $1500 target rifles I have used.

Just recieved my well used 10-22 back from the factory. It had gotten undependable, failing to fire about every third or fourth shot. Factory replaced barrel, rear sight, vee block, hammer spring and cleaning. Total charge Zero!! How can you beat that. Firm Ruger fan for life
