Thompson/Center Venture Recall

Thompson/Center is recalling Venture rifles because of a possible sear malfunction.

11/8/2011

Thompson/Center is recalling Venture rifles produced between Aug., 1 2011, and Oct. 28, 2011, due to a determination during an internal review that the sears might not be up to specification.

As the sear is an important part of the firing mechanism, Thompson/Center parent company Smith & Wesson recommends that you stop using these rifles until determining if your Venture is affected by this recall, which can be determined by going to Smith-Wesson.com/venturerecall.com, or by calling (800) 713-0356.

If you should need to return your rifle to Smith & Wesson, by sure to attach the completed information card received from Smith & Wesson, so that your sear can be inspected and repaired, and returned to you as quickly and efficiently as possible.

When your rifle sear is returned, you should note a punch dot on the trigger assembly. This punch dot is confirmation that your sear has been inspected and the hazard has not been found or has been corrected. For more information, go to Smith-Wesson.com.

I purchased the venture prior to the PA deer season. The rifle shhots great. I love it. I was notified before the season of the recall. I emailed and called to get the rifle returned. So far I have not recieved anything via email and/or in my mail. I'm disapointed in your service. Not to mention that I was unable to use this weapon for hunting.

My son is wanting one of the Venture rifles and I could not purchase one for him for a Christmas present this year. when will they be available again and will you still honor the rebate on them since they were recalled before the rebate expired.

I live in the socialist State of New Jersey so shipping a rifle is a pain, can I have a local dealer inspect it???
