11/8/2011 It took less than a week after Wisconsin became the 49th state to implement a concealed-carry law on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, to generate more than 20,000 applications with the Wisconsin Department of Justice. The Justice Department has 30 to 35 people processing applications, all trying to fulfill the 45 day turnaround requirement. According to the Milwaukee, Wis., Journal Sentinel, state officials anticipate that up to 200,000 applications could be submitted in just a few months. To obtain a concealed-carry permit in Wisconsin, applicants must be 21 years old, pass a background check and receive training.
