Ruger Temporarily Suspends New Orders

Ruger has announced that new orders have been temporarily suspended after the company received more than one million in the first quarter of 2012.

After receiving more than one million order requests in the first quarter of 2012 alone, Sturm, Ruger & Co. has temporarily suspended the acceptance of new orders.

Ruger CEO Michael O. Fifer said that despite the company's continuing efforts to increase production, the incoming order rate exceeds Ruger's capacity to rapidly fulfill the orders. The temporary suspension is expected to last until the end of May.

Ruger's success is part of what led the company to expand on its existing "Million Gun Challenge" with the NRA. The fundraiser became the "1.2 Million Gun Challenge" at SHOT Show 2012. The final results will be announced at the 2012 NRA Annual Meetings in St. Louis.

I to am a big fan of Ruger. I own eight and I have never had any problems with any of them, and I put a lot of rounds through all of them. My son is now shooting and out of all my firearms (50+), he likes the Ruger P and SR series best. We plan on owning a lot more Rugers.

I've got four Rugers with no functional problems with any of them but the accuracy on my M77 is pretty bad. I expect at least 1.5 moa from the bench out of a hunting rifle, I'm lucky if I get 3.5 moa out of it regardless of the ammo I'm using. I was a little disappointed, especially since I can get better groups out of my 60 year old Lee Enfield.

I have 4 Ruger firearms in my 20+ collection and love them all! For kicks, I ordered the new American Rifle in .308 back in early Feb. No word as of yet when I'll get it. But Ruger, please take your time and deliver quality over quantity!

I wonder what is Dennis talking about also I own 2 Ruger pistols-P95 & LCP 380 w/laser max and I've had zero problems. I believe they make quality products. Never change your ways Ruger.

Dennis, do you own any Rugers? My GP100, SP101, Mark III and 10/22 are the most problem free firearms that I own. As a matter of fact, I've had no problems with any of them and the trigger pull is the best in the business. Stay the course Ruger, your products are great!

I don't know what you're talking about Dennis. I own a 10/22 and a Mark III Hunter. Both are excellent guns for the money. Fit, finish, function, accurate, and affordable. Can't ask for much more
