4/10/2012 Interarms Mark X rifles are “a dime a dozen” on the used-gun market; however, replacement stocks, and especially those that offer true “drop-in” fit, are anything but. I discovered this firsthand when trying to re-stock my Mark X that had been re-barreled and tuned by SSK Industries. Most companies offer generic “Mauser Model 98” stocks requiring alterations (i.e. gunsmithing) to accommodate the Interarms barreled action. Not so with Ram-Line’s molded, glass-filled polycarbonate Syn-Tech Mark X stock. In fact, had I not replaced the factory trigger with Timney’s Mauser Featherweight Deluxe version, it would have been a perfect drop-in fit, as it’s designed for unmodified, “sporter” contour-barreled Mark Xs up to .338 Win. Mag. Still, fitting took only minutes and is not visible externally. The matte-black, scratch-resistant stock weighs approximately 2 pounds, has a soft, 3/4-inch-thick recoil pad, dual sling swivel studs and impressed checkering, and can be free-floated and glass-bedded, though mine required neither for excellent accuracy.
