6/19/2012 Anschutz, the well-known competition rifle company, has introduced a small-bore training and hunting rifle—the MSR RX22. With a target barrel and competition-inspired trigger, the MSR RX22 is a full-featured, precision .22-caliber rifle. Built in a partnership between three German companies—Anschutz, German Sport Guns and ESC Ulm—to be a precision shooting .22, the MSR RX22 is an accurate self-loading rifle with excellent performance and reliability, operating on a force-locking, blowback system with a hammer lock. The barrels are manufactured to the same tolerances of Anschutz target barrels, with button rifling and a recessed target crown. The components of the single-stage trigger are hardened and ground for a fast trigger with a consistent release between 3.3 to 5.5 pounds. The MSR RX22 is available in four versions for left- or right-handed shooters, with a cocking handle capable of six locations and an ambidextrous safety. All four versions have a full-length Picatinny rail for mounting the included flip-up sights or additional optics, and the rifle is available with a 10-round detachable magazine through Steyr Arms for $895. Manufacturer: J.G. Anschütz GmbH & Co. KG
