CZ-75 clones have been chambered in the powerhouse 10mm... And this one they're telling you should not fire +P 9mm???

A 38.6 all steel handgun that is built like a tank that isn't rated for +P ammunition??? The 9mm is a viable defensive cartridge again because of advances in bullets technology and +P loadings. Who would buy Israeli heavy metal like this and not shoot +P loads through it?

Just purchased an IWI, Baby Eagle II in 9mm from the A/F Exchange system earlier last month and I absolutley love it. A little weightier than the rest of my compact handguns but the fit, feel, looks & style and quality is great; glad I didn't opt for the polymer version. All steel, its compact, but feels like a lot of weapon in the hand and the weight helps to keep on target with rapid fire. I have since put 4 boxes of Winchester and 200 rounds of quality reloads from my local gun shop and only one FTF, feed issue. Manual does say +P or +P+ will void warranty however. Either way, its a great addition to the rest of my handguns (3 9's, 1 sig 380, and 2 45's).

I bought my B.E.II in july. It was my first gun ( since then I have bought a few more) The reason I chose this gun was that it felt like a long lost handshake. I love the look and the weight of it, However, I did have some issues The sights were off which is no big deal. the local gunsmith took care of that. My main issue was that it would double load often. I finally could not stand it anymore when I put 200 rounds through it and had 20 jams!! It jammed on winchester, federal and remington umc, and 115 grain hollow points. It was sent back to magnum research and I recieved it in about two weeks with a new barrel. I havent shot it yet but I am hesitant to fire it if I need it for defense. I guess I will rely on my trusty kahr cw9 ( which is the same company essentailly) to defend until i get to the range..

I bought mine several years ago as my 1st handgun. Totally satisfied, only thing I did was put on night sights.

Greetings JMB. I’ve learned, since posting this review, that firing +P or +P+ ammunition in the Baby Eagle II pistol will void the manufacturer’s warranty. In preparing to test the Baby Eagle II, I neglected to verify the ammunition ratings thinking that +P ammunition was approved for use. As you can see, the pistol not only survived a small set of +P loads, but it’s still running in fine form. However, Magnum Research informed me that they do not recommend using power-boosted ammunition at all, thus the pistol’s warranty will be revoked if it’s fired. My apologies for the error.

Please reply! Am I A D D or did the owner's manual say not to use 9mm+p. I know other auto loaders like the BHP are not to be fed +p's

What would be really nice is if they would make a 10mm version of this gun. It always seemed to me that the Desert Eagle was more of a niche gun than anything so why not. Obviously this gun is made to appeal more to the mainstream though, but I think that this gun would make for a nice 10mm. JMO

A comparable gun would be the CZ 75, which is the gun the the Baby is based on.

I have the original "Baby Eagle" Jerico 941 in .40 S&W. I LOVE it. Such a fun gun to shoot. I'm glad they brought the gun back to life.

GREAT ARTICLE. I felt as if I had this baby in front of me. Question: It's clear that this pistol is superior to the polymer-clad competitors you mentioned implicitly... Is there a steel-clad competitor that would be a 2nd best to the Baby D?

You had me at 'sub-3 inch groups' Great review! I have a question: It's easy to see how superior this pistol is to other 'baby' polymer-clad pistols you mentioned implicitly. Is there a comparable (i.e., 2nd best) steel-clad pistol out there?
