When was the FNX .40 originally released to the public?

Just curious why the price of a 'gun and a half' would be more than the price of both guns combined... Right now you can buy the FNS9 or FNS40 for around $600, thus giving you two guns for less than the price of one and a half......

I purchased a FNP-45 Tactical in March 2012. I dumped it in January 2013 and cannot recommend FN Pistols to anyone. FN may tease you with all their products but the company DOES NOT SUPPORT any of it's pistols after the sale. I tried to purchase extra magazines for mine from the time I purchased it until I dumped it. I am a LE officer and need to rotate magazines monthly. I attempted to contact FN numerous times to find out why there was no support and NEVER got a reply. The gun was good, the support was non-existent. I have owned almost every brand of firearm and have never had a company with service and support this poor. Not even the aftermarket will support FN pistols. I will not ever purchase a FN and can not recommend them to anyone. RUN away. RUN away now. RUN fast. This is my opinion and you can take my experience for what it is worth but so many others I spoke to said the same things.

FNH got it right! I've done the same thing with a Brand X pistol by getting a second barrel. It will run 357 SIG and 40 S&W. Not much of a change in ballistics but it helps when you can't find ammo for one or the other.

Wonder what my Browning 1922FN is worth.. I can change from 9mm (380ACP) to 7mm (32 ACP)in 25 seconds and use the same magazines for both calibers.

part of a gun sitting in a draw seems like a waste. two guns each ready and capable doing of the job sounds better to me.

I think that FN would sell more than if it was sold it as 9mm/.40 with a .22lr upper.
