NSSF Launches New Project ChildSafe Website

The expanded Project ChildSafe site offers new tools to promote firearm safety in the home.

6/17/13

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) launches a new Project ChildSafe website to coincide with its "S.A.F.E. Summer" campaign. Both are designed to shed more light on the importance of firearm safety and storage, providing educational resources to help prevent accidents or misuse. Some of the new and interactive features of the site include a quiz to determine how safely your firearms are stored, a pledge to encourage responsible ownership, an infographic to help owners choose a safe storage option, information on where to get a Firearm Safety Kit and tools for law enforcement agencies who want to partner with the project by distributing safety kits.

S.A.F.E. is an acronym for Secure your firearms when not in use; Be Aware of those around you who should not have unauthorized access to guns; Focus on your responsibility as a firearm owner and Educate yourself and others about safe firearm handling and storage.

Go to ProjectChildSafe.org to see if you're being S.A.F.E.
