The .40 S&W

The .40 S&W was designed as a compromise between the 9 mm and the .45, but regardless of personal preference, it makes a good self-defense round, and it is still the round used by most law enforcement officers.

Permit me to step aside from the discussion of firearms and ballistics (although the subjects are fascinating). I would like to take issue with the use of the term “civilians” as a distinction between LEO’s and non-LEO’s. My point is that all LEO’s federal, state, and local, enforcing civil law, are civilians. The Posse Comitatus Act prohibits the use of the military in civil law enforcement. The term “citizen” is an appropriate substitute for non-LEO’s.
