Beautifull rifle.
I'd like to see how the rifles are made.

I just sold a new 783! $375.00 for a gun that shoots a 1/2' group. It's not a custom gun, it's a good all around gun that if it fell off the atv or horse you wouldn't cry.

All I've been reading is a bunch of whineing by whimpering, simpering, dolts.
You jerks know too much about nothing.

Bottom line is that the rifle fills a gap in the Remington price line. What many 'gun guys ' don't realize is that we are not the target (excuse the pun) market here. It is the guy who buys a rifle and the cheapest box of 'shells' they can on the day before deer season opens. They will take their new rifle to the wood without sighting it in, wound three deer and call the retailer to say that the gun is defective. Of course it isn't a 700. It's not meant to be. I would never buy a 770 it's not a 700. The diference is that I like most of those who have posted here have the knowledge and experience to know that a hundred or two dollars more is money well spent when 20 years from now we are still shooting the same rifle. The guy who bought the 770,783 or god forbid the 710 will either realize the error of their ways and step it up or they won't either way Remington got their dollars, stayed in business and is still around to make the se guy a 700.

Big whoop! Give me my Remington 40XB Rangemaster Thumbhole (I have nine of them) any time. I have two more that were purchased before the thumbhole was available.

You did not mention how they kept the price down (cheapened it). The trigger guard appears to be junk plastic.
The bolt looks like a dreaded MIM casting.
Bluing is a dull modern crude.
Is the stock a junk injected molded one or is it a composite plasticky stock.
Is the barrel button rifled or a hammer fudged one?
The small ejection port has no place on a hunting rifle, it will get you killed if you need to reload it in a hurry.
Does the action have an inferior modern speed lock or a more reliable Mauser or Howa lock time?
Is the receiver made of a forging or a junk modern brittle casting.

I hope it doesn't have the same detached recoil lug system as the 770. Maybe the receiver and the bolt of this one is all steel as well...

Panic in the streets at Remongton...with the overwhelming popularity of the new Ruger American Rifle. Plastic trigger guard ? Give me a break. I do like the receiver, very much though. Lots of metal in it to reduce issues. And, the extractor is much better than the Rem.700 Everyone is copying Savage head spacing barrel system and the accu-trigger.

I don't like detachable mags too easy to lose and cost too much to replace !
