Pistols with Rifle Actions

When is a rifle not a rifle? When the manufacturer whittles down the features of a long gun to produce a super cool handgun! Whether it’s to build a pistol chambered in a rifle cartridge or just because it looks great, rifle-action handguns provide a unique shooting experience. Please note that all of the guns shown here meet Federal regulations because they were built as handguns at the factory.

Note that the most recent reappearance of the Mare's Leg was in the space-Western "Firefly". It generated an enthusiastic cult following - toted by the leading WOMAN, Gina Torres. (The actual gun used was a prop from a previous sci-fi/Western show, "Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.".)

Of course these are legal. How would you ever buy a firearm from a FFL If it wasnt legal. The BATF classify these as "Pistols" not "SBR" or "AOW". As long as you have a CPL you would be legal to carry one of these concealed on your person locked and loaded. Depending on ur state. (california does not allow High Cap mags) you may have that 75rd drum on there too. I carry one of these on my person with Chinese Steel core loaded. I dont care who you are or what body armor you are wearing thats gonna touch ya. I got stopped for an improper lane change and I gave the officer my CPL along with my license which he appreciated. He didnt cite me for the traffic violation but asked me what I carry out of interest and I told him my Drako. He said "whats a draco??" I showed him the 8lb pistol I had hanging from a single point sling under my armpit. He gave me a funny look and was like "thats a pistol??" I showed him my BATF classification paperwork and he said "Wow, well have a nice day Sir". It never gets old about how dumbed down and ill imformed the general public is...Its quiet sad how many people dont educate themselves. 99% of the population doesnt even know they can apply for NFA/Class 3 weapons...

Regarding aiming the gun to hit the paper, how about a laser sight attached to the underside of the ammo tube?

I owned one for a while. A real kick in the pants to shoot. You would be suprised at how acurate it is! BUT is very awkward and very clumsey.Still has the "Cool factor".

Even though it is no longer being made. Don't leave out the Remington XP100 bolt action hand gun.

I just got a Rossi Ranch Hand. I got it in .45 Colt long. I've had it out to the range to shoot 3 times now and I love the gun. I also have other shooters come to look at it. Most remember seeing one in the movies. I'm just trying to figure out how to hold and aim it so that I can hit the whatever target I put out. At 15 yards I can hit farely good but at 25 yards its aim is high and off the paper. I have to aim off the target low to hit the target. I have the rear site as low as it will go. I think that I might need to do some work on the site or try other ways to aim the gun. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If you want a pistol carbine that takes 30 carbine mags go to gunbroker.com and search on the Enforcer. Was made back 30 years ago still avail at decent prices.

Now this X-30P would REALLY be nice if it accepted standard 30 Carbine Mags.
